Jim Stewart, Principal of JP Stewart Consulting, LLC

Jim has been a project manager for twenty-five years and since 2003 has been independently providing consulting, training and mentoring. A PMP since 2001 and Certified Scrum Master since 2013, he contributes by helping organizations increase their project maturity and best practices.

In 2019, he received three agile certifications: PMI-ACP, IC-Agile coach and SAFe (Scaled Agile.) He is currently a partner in The Agile Collaborative which provides agile consulting and training.

In his current project, he is working for a pharmaceutical company helping them to remediate their products for the most recent European regulations. In that capacity he maintains schedules, runs meeting sand provides status reports, all remotely. .

Jim has established PMOs and led projects for financial and pharmaceutical companies and provided best practices for many organizations. Most recently he established portfolio management for a software company near Boston. Jim also periodically provides PMP Prep training in both public and in-house sessions.

Jim is on the project management advisory board of a training organization called MindEdge, Inc. and is co-author of the book, “Facilitating Project Planning Meetings: A Practical Guide to Ensuring Project Success.” He co-facilitated a one-day Intro to Scrum workshop at Project Summit/Business Analyst World Boston in the fall of 2019 and is currently an applicant to give a PMI TED talk. He is also mentoring a USAF veteran to help him transition to project management.

Previous projects:

  • As Program Manager for Genuity, Jim spearheaded the implementation of its award-winning $20M Virtual Private Network service.
  • At Lotus, he was the senior consultant responsible for the international deployment of a comprehensive Notes-based system for IBM called PartnerInfo. Translated into 11 languages, PartnerInfo was rolled out internationally to many of IBM’s 40,000 business partners.
  • For various pharmaceutical companies, he provided big meeting facilitation for beginning stages of both drug development and medical device projects in the US and Europe.
  • For a a credit union he created a master schedule in Microsoft Project for the complete rebranding and re-launch of their organization.
